Agreement and adult use
These Terms govern use of the Eighteen Chapters website and purchases from Eighteen Chapters. By placing an order, you agree to these Terms and the policies linked from checkout.
You must be at least 18 years old to place an order or submit child information. You represent that you are the child’s parent, legal guardian, or an adult authorized to submit the content and approve the product.
Personalized products and examples
Each book is created from the product, options, photos, answers, and instructions submitted for that order. Website photographs, sample spreads, cover colors, textures, page layouts, and lifestyle scenes illustrate the intended style and potential result; the final product varies by selected options, source-photo quality, design choices, screen settings, and print-production capabilities.
Third-party brand names, characters, logos, or protected artwork may not be reproduced without permission. A customer may describe an interest, such as toy race cars or space, and we may translate it into an original themed design rather than copying third-party intellectual property.
Your content and permission
You retain ownership of photos, stories, and other content you submit. You give Eighteen Chapters and its service providers a limited license to store, process, edit, reproduce, and transmit that content only as reasonably necessary to create, revise, print, ship, support, and document the order.
You represent that you have the right and permission to submit all content, including images of other people, and that the requested use does not violate another person’s rights. We may refuse content that is unlawful, unsafe, infringing, or inappropriate for the product.
Proofs, revisions, and approval
You are responsible for reviewing names, dates, spelling, photo choices, crops, layout, and other personalized details shown in the proof. You may request reasonable corrections before final approval. Material changes outside the original order may require an additional fee, which will be disclosed before work proceeds.
Final approval authorizes us to use the approved design for printing. Changes may not be possible after printing begins.
Pricing, payment, and taxes
Prices shown at checkout are in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. Payment is processed through Stripe. Shipping charges, taxes, or approved additional work may be added when clearly disclosed before payment or before the additional work begins.
We may correct obvious pricing or technical errors before accepting an order. If an order cannot be accepted at the displayed price, we will offer the corrected price or cancel and refund the payment.
Production and shipping
Production begins after we receive the information needed for the order and final proof approval. Shipping timing, delays, address issues, and carrier responsibilities are described in the Shipping & Delivery Policy.
Refunds and replacements
The Annual Chapter can be cancelled for a full refund before final proof approval, even after design work begins. Approval authorizes printing and ends this promise. See the Refunds & Revisions Policy for details and damaged or incorrect orders.
Website and intellectual property
The Eighteen Chapters name, logo, website design, copy, templates, sample layouts, and original artwork are owned by or licensed to Eighteen Chapters and may not be copied, resold, or used to create competing products without permission.
You may use the website only for lawful personal purchasing and order-management purposes. You may not interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, scrape private areas, or misuse customer links.
Service availability and liability
We work to keep the site and order tools available, but temporary interruptions, provider outages, and maintenance may occur. To the extent permitted by law, Eighteen Chapters is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses. Our aggregate liability relating to a product will not exceed the amount paid for that product, except where the law does not allow that limitation.
Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We may update these Terms for future use of the site. The version in effect when an order is placed will govern that order unless a change is required by law or agreed with the customer.
